JOSEPH ZAJDA is an internationally recognised scholar in comparative education. He teaches sociology of education courses at the Australian Catholic University. He is the founding editor of three international journals in education and sociology- New Education, founded in 1978, Education and Society established in 1983 and Curriculum and Teaching, currently in its tenth year. His published works include Education in the USSR, Education and Society in the 1980s and Excellence and Quality in Education (edited with Nick Kach and Kazim Bacchus.
